RAD International, a boutique consulting company with blue-chip clients and a reputation for delivering innovative products and services on-time and on-budget, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer / Team Lead with significant Java experience to augment its development team.

Primary Duties:

• Work with stakeholders to define, design, and implement software technology
• Participate in the software development process from design to release
• Investigate, review and integrate third party technologies
• Provide assistance to other developers on and off-site
• Provide assistance to customer support, documentation and quality assurance as needed

General Qualifications:

• An inquiring open mind, superb analytical skills, and the ability to articulate your ideas
• 10+ years of progressive experience in software development
• 5+ years of Java application design and development
• Minimum bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics
• Possess excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills; strong team player
• Ability to accurately estimate tasks and meet schedules
• Familiarity with both Windows and Unix based development
• A strong commitment to always do what’s best for the customer

Technical Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and current technologies
• Broad knowledge of the Java Platform with specialization in the creation of multi-tiered applications
• Deep practical knowledge of performance issues, in particular with n-tier systems
• Specific experience in web services using a variety of implementation technologies.
• Development technologies: Oracle, BEA, SUN, JBoss
• Object-oriented design using UML
• Development platforms: Linux/Unix, Solaris, AIX and Windows

Responsibilities:

• Play an active role in the design and implementation of systems
• Code in accordance with defined standards
• Mentor team members as required
• Perform unit and system integration tests
