RAD International, a boutique consulting company with blue-chip clients and a reputation for delivering high-quality products and services on-time and on-budget, is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer with a solid grasp of the software development life cycle to augment its development team. The successful candidate will take a leadership role in building out our QA processes.

The QA Engineer will be responsible for overall product quality before delivery to a client and participate in all around quality assurance activities. The QA Engineer will be involved in all product quality efforts including requirement reviews, test planning, status meetings, defect reporting, performance benchmarking and continuous Software Quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities:

• Devise testing strategy by studying project objectives, specifications, and timetables; coordinating QA requirements with development team
• Plan testing program by estimating and sizing testing efforts; developing data collection and processing methods; specifying testing metrics; develops testing schedules
• Verify that project documentation is sufficiently detailed to support development of test cases
• Manage currently ongoing QA activities including requirement management, test case review, project planning, progress monitoring
• Perform use case and requirement verification
• Develop test cases and checklists for sanity checking of a software build
• Create and maintain test environment
• Perform functional, integration, system and performance testing using manual methods and testing tools when necessary
• Identify, log and track issues in the system under test
• Record all test results and report test status
• Cross train project members on quality assurance processes
• Familiar with multiple automated testing tools and environments
• Continually search for and evaluate new QA processes and tools to improve QA functions and processes
• Assist development manager in test planning
• Enhance existing QA processes and procedures
• Develop appropriate test data
• Updates job knowledge by tracking developments in quality assurance strategies and techniques; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in QA
• 4+ years of Web testing experience
• 1+ years experience with automating test environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Passionate about Quality and Quality Assurance
• Experience in setting up test environment for data driven web applications
• In depth knowledge of writing effective test cases
• Proven ability to lead teams of 4-5 people
• Solid understanding of QA principles and the software development lifecycle
• Solid understanding of black box testing
• Preparation of formal test plans, test cases and bug reporting
• Perform bug reporting using an automated bug tracking tool
• Excellent teamwork skills
