Senior Network Engineer

RAD's operation team is looking for an experienced network engineer with experience in crafting highly available systems.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Works with or leads a team to design, implement and manage network hardware and software solutions for LAN's and WAN's in a highly available, scalable, secure network environments
  • Proposes software and hardware projects (internal and external) in an ongoing effort to enhance our operations and ensure reliability of systems either as a team member or individual contributor as the needs of the project dictate
  • Analyzes systems to propose best practices for both internal and external customers
  • Takes leadership role in the engineering and installation of new clients and upgrades of service to existing clients
  • Liaises with technical groups during transitioning and migration of new clients
  • Creates process and procedure documents for all products and services offered.
  • Assists in training employees on operations policies, procedures and proper utilization
  • Providing technical support to clients or other groups within the organization
  • Under the direction of the Operations Manager this position may require participation in sales proposal preparation and presentations


Summary of Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in a Data Center environment
  • 5+ years experience in systems architecture, prior design and project participation in systems solutions (internal and customer related)
  • Flexible and able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, various network and systems management hardware and software, as well as diagnostic tools
  • Holds or pursues major network engineers certifications (Cisco, F5, Foundry, Juniper, Citrix, Check Point, Microsoft, Dell, HP, IBM) or ITIL Certificate
  • Experience supporting major brand hardware: routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VoIP solutions, SAN/NAS, VPN, wireless broadband
  • Experience with NOC and Network Management Systems
  • Experience and knowledge of Information Security Systems (IDS/IPS, Nessus)
  • Experience and knowledge of Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Installs hardware infrastructure: racks, servers, firewalls, cabling
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Works with minimal supervision
  • Work may require travel
