Senior C/C++ Software Engineer

RAD International, a boutique consulting company with blue-chip clients and a reputation for delivering innovative products and services on-time and on-budget, is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer with deep C/C++ experience to augment its development team.

General Qualifications:
• 7+ years of progressive experience in software development.
• An inquiring open mind, superb analytical skills, and the ability to articulate your ideas.
• 4+ years of C/C++ application design and development.
• The ability to quickly come up to speed on a foreign code base.
• Experience analyzing and optimizing application performance on AIX or other UNIX systems.
• Experience analyzing and tracking memory usage, including leak detection in a C/C++ application.
• The ability to refactor application code without affecting the functional behaviour of the application.
• Minimum bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics.
• Possess excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills; strong team player.
• Experience analyzing and optimizing database performance, including stored procedures, would be an asset.
• Java experience would be an asset.

Technical Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of C/C++, XML and web services
• Development technologies: C/C++, Soap, TCP/IP
• Object-oriented design using RUP, AOP
• Development platforms: Linux, AIX 5L, Windows XP/2000/2003

Responsibilities:
• Play an active role in the design and implementation
• Support architect with detailed design
• Support extended team through coaching and mentoring
• Participate in the definition, adherence, and best-practices of development technologies
• Code in accordance with defined standards
• Perform unit and system integration test
